April 2020 Recap

April was our first full month of full-blown quarantine so not a whole lot of exciting things happened however, we made the absolute most of it. We celebrated Easter, made our own play-dough, baked all of the treats, had movie nights… and days, and spent as much time outside as possible. It was actually one of my very favorite months of the year so far! Welcome to the April 2020 recap.

We made our own play-dough which kept the twins entertained for an entire hour. It was so easy to make too, all it took was of 1 cup conditioner and 1/2 a cup of corn starch, mix together and boom you have a mess to clean up in an hour but some really happy little ones.

Easter was so much fun! The boys were really surprised to find bunny tracks and lots of balls (aka eggs). Also who can resist a baby in bunny ears!

Rory got his first scrapped knee. He took it like a champ got right back up and never gave it a second thought.

Jack became a consistent walker. He is still a bit wibbly wobbly and prefers crawling when he wants to get somewhere in a hurry but he is doing so good! You can watch his first real day of steps here:

The boys got to see their first fountain up close and personal. Since we live in the City of Fountains you would think this would have come sooner but it didn’t.

We played a little game of dress up while cleaning out Rory’s closet. This was the day Rory discovered his love of cowboy boots.

We found an awesome walking trail right by our house complete with a creek and a waterfall which Rory insists is bubbles.

Speaking of bubbles, these two are obsessed. We have to hide the bubble wands because once they see them they freak until bubbles are blown. Rory even decided to hide some on his own and we found four bubble wands in the microwave one day. The boys also refer to dandelions as bubbles and I guess they are kind of right!

I would like to sell my soul to whoever invented water tables. These things keep the boys occupied for hours and hours and hours.

Rory had his first ever Popsicle, he dumped it in his water table after two bites but up until that point he loved it.

I have been baking so much. Our favorite so far was a chocolate pudding pie complete with a brownie crust. It was so good!

Every day we are able we go for a walk and its everyones favorite time of day.

Because of the circumstances of the boys’ birth and the subsequent complications, it took 2 years and a global pandemic for the four of us to be alone, together, for more than 12 hours at a time. While this crisis is the actual worst, and we feel so terribly for those negatively impacted, and we miss our families and friends, this really has allowed us take the time we would have otherwise not had to make memories and spend quality time together as a foursome. Weekend naps are frequent, dinners are homemade, all of our streaming subscriptions are worth it, and having a husband who insists upon owning over 700 movies on DVD has paid off, I basically have my own Blockbuster in the basement. All in all April was one for the books!
