Every year 200,000 US families find themselves in the NICU and in 2018 we got to be members of this elite squad. We spent 260 days in two different NICUs. It was a long and trying time for all four of us however, without the incredible nurses, doctors, hospitals and modern medicine we would not have gotten to bring our babies home. Not so long ago babies born before 27 weeks gestation were not even resuscitated or given a shot at life but in our modern era Jack and Rory not only received life saving care they received the best care there is and this is Part 1 of our NICU story.
My name is Bethany and I’m a mama of twin boys who has a completely disorganized living room. Our son Jack requires the support of a ventilator and with that comes an enormous amount of supplies. During quarantine we really let this get out of had and it is time to clean it up! Both of our cars are in need of an extreme cleaning. We have barely left the house in the last 50 days but our cars have been gross since before quarantine 🤣 and now it’s time to tackle the mess and get these bad boys ready to hit the open road again!

Read MoreWe are locked down in our home and in full quarantine mode. This is not totally abnormal for us since we have practically been in quarantine since the boys were born at 25 weeks. The only real change for us is the absence of child care. We made the decision to suspend our nursing to ensure that there were no outside germs entering our home during this time. Typically we have nursing over night and during the work day however, we are now doing this parenting thing all on our own for the first time EVER! Come along with us for a day in the life quarantined with twins while trying to navigate working from home sans child care.
